Paris, 19th of April 2009
Welcome to our website and its new spring layout to announce our 4th edition, which will open on the 1st of July in Istanbul and close on the 17th in Cappadoccia .
In the wake of the previous editions, we follow our aim to gather artists engaged in the practice of improvisation and we continue weaving the threads which have been supporting and enriching the work in the past years.
With dance and music as fields of predilection, we will go on exploring this rapport with Julyen Hamilton and Barre Phillips during a 8 day instant composition workshop open to 35 dancers and musicians.
Throughout the week we will have the chance to inhabit the beautiful spaces of the Tütün Deposu with performances, panels, exhibitions and jams, proposing thus different entries into the core of the practice. Thanks to Depo and Anadolu Kultur for their trust and warm collaboration.
Our taste for inspiring environments has not diminished and last year’s experience in Cappadoccia opened interesting perspectives. Going further on these tracks, Yanaël Plumet will propose a residency workshop , in which a group of performer will be invited to collaborate in site-specific performance work during 7 days of immersion in the local context.
We try to articulate projects which can open new spaces of collaboration for artists engaged in this field and we are always happy to notice new artistic adventures triggered by Transit.
Meeting new audiences on new territories, expanding borders and horizons are strong motivations to reinvent daily some kind of geography where things grow in between true dreams and common reality.
